PHASE 2: JUNIOR GOLFER EVALUATION
At the beginning of the evaluation, the instructor will sit down with the student and their parents to ascertain what the short term and long-term goals are for the junior.
After the consultation on goals, the student will have a game & swing evaluation encompassing all aspects of the game from putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play and on-course play. This process will take 45 minutes to an hour.
PHASE 2: 30-MINUTE JUNIOR GOLF LESSON
The 30-minute golf lesson will give the instructor ample time to greet the student, find out how previous practice sessions have gone and ask what is the goal for the current lesson session. From there the instructor will develop the plan for the lesson utilizing either swing drills, body flexibility drills, swing aids or technology to get the point across in a fashion that the student will understand. The student will have time to perform rehearsal swings and hit actual shots for evaluation. At the conclusion of the lesson, the student will receive homework for the next session.
PHASE 3: BI-WEEKLY JUNIOR CLINICS
These clinics are held every two weeks covering all aspects of the game for the junior player, starting from the putting green back to the lesson tee covering the full swing. This is a great way to give the junior golf an introduction to the game, if they are uncertain they want to join a more structured program.
PHASE 3: JUNIOR PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Are you looking for a structured program that is more comprehensive than regular Junior Golf lessons, but without the commitment of the Junior Golf Academy? Our Junior Player Development Program will give you the requisite skills that you’re looking for to improve your game. The program consists of 10 – 45 minute sessions program covering all phases of the game, from putting to the driver. The short game portion of the program will consist of putting, chipping, pitching and bunker play. After the short game version of the program, the player will have the opportunity of seeing improvement on the course with me. The full swing portion of the program will consist of irons, hybrids, fairway metals and the driver. At the completion of the full swing portion, we will go back onto the course to see how all phases of the game are developing. This program is good for those juniors who are looking to become more competitive or to prepare for their High School Golf Team.
PHASE 3: DRIVE, CHIP & PUTT CLINICS
This is a great way to hone your skills prior to the Local Qualification Event. Drive, Chip and Putt clinics are three one-hour sessions covering basic and advanced skills for putting, chipping and driving necessary to move from Local qualifying to Regional and hopefully to the National stage at Augusta National Golf Club, in Augusta, Georgia.
PHASE 3: PGA JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE
PGA Junior League Golf is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 9 – 13 to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends. Each team is captained by a PGA or LPGA Professional, who serves as the coach and is at the forefront of creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy the game. PGA Junior League Golf utilizes a popular scramble format that creates a nurturing environment for learning and development – both on and off course. With more than 2,500 teams and 30,000 participants in 2016 – and Ambassadors like Rory McIlroy and Michelle Wie – PGA Junior League Golf has wide-ranging appeal for both youth and their parents.
PHASE 4: STPGA LITTLE LINKSTERS & JUNIOR LINKS
The Little Linksters Program is where juniors get the opportunity to participate in tournaments throughout the year geared toward creating lifetime golfers. Junior golfers, ages 6-12, are grouped by age, gender, skill level, and play either 5 or 9 holes.
The program encourages and motivates juniors to learn the game, enjoy the game, improve at their own pace, and be as competitive as each individual aspires. It is designed so that once players improve their scores and ability, they move up to the next division. We feel that this type of program allows for players to move at their own pace and also allow the same age juniors to compete at different levels.
The Junior Links Tour is for juniors who have just begun to play golf or need more experience before playing in our Junior Tour. It consists of 9-hole tournaments during the summer only and is open to juniors ages 13-18. Junior Links Tour does not have a points list or a Championship.
PHASE 4: US KIDS GOLF
U.S. Kids Golf Local Tours are created to provide boys and girls, ages 5 to 14, the opportunity to advance their skills in the game in age-appropriate competition without having to take the time and incur the costs of having to travel long distances.
A Local Tour consists of eight one-day tournaments including a season-ending one-day Local Tour Championship. Players earn awards and points for each tournament.
Similar to the PGA Tour, players at U.S. Kids Golf events are encouraged to have caddies to help them play their best. Allowing caddies is a special component of our tournaments and is part of our commitment to encouraging family interaction that builds lasting memories. Players age 8 and under must have a caddie at all times. To help you become a better caddie, U.S. Kids Golf has partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance. PCA’s mission is to build character-driven athletes and will help you stay positive on the course as well as further developing the relationship with your son or daughter. Please review the USKG Policies for more information on this special part of all U.S. Kids Golf competitions.
All tournaments will be held based on the yardages represented under Age Groups & Yardages. Once you register for a Local Tour you may enter as many events as you choose within that Local Tour. You may also register for more than one Local Tour.
Entry is first-come, first-served. The dates below will determine a players age group for the duration of the tour. Players must be at least five years of age by the date listed in order to participate.
